Hamlet: On Stage
Project: Hamlet: On Stage
Company: Young Vic
Hamlet: On Stage offers schools the opportunity to experience what it is like to work on a professional stage as well as gain an understanding of technical theatre, working alongside the Assistant Director and the technical team.
Taking scenes from our production of Hamlet, the young people will be both the actors and technicians, learning what is involved in putting together those scenes both from the point of view of on stage as well as backstage. They will then run the scene as though in a performance with all the lights, sound and prop queues, as well as the young actors on stage. At the half way point, the groups swap over so that each has a chance to do both activities.
The 2 hour workshops are led by the Assistant Director on the show and supported by the production team.
Where: Young Vic
Duration: 2 hours (1-3pm)
Number of participants: Up to 15 young people
Dates: Friday 25 November and Tuesday 6 December
Project available to two secondary schools
